About Wessex Care

Wessex Care is a family-run group of residential care homes and domiciliary care services in Salisbury, Wiltshire with a distinctly different approach to looking after vulnerable adults.

We take pride in offering them a home in the real sense of the word – where everything is focused solely on their needs and where the care and support is everything they deserve, helping them to lead their everyday lives just as they wish.

Our community care services

A very different approach, and a very special service. Whatever we’re there to do, you’ll soon notice that we do things very differently.

For instance, all of our staff are salaried – not on zero hour contracts which seem to be the norm elsewhere – so they’re not rushing from one appointment to the next, not rationing their time once they arrive, not a different, unfamiliar face every time you open the door.

Instead, you’ll share your time with someone who wants to get to know you as a person; who is able to call in exactly when they are needed most; who is always ready and willing to do that little bit more.

Our Community Services
  • “I would like to thank each & every member of your team for their high level of care & support whilst I was off my feet. I can’t praise highly enough the level of help provided from you. My sincere thanks to all concerned.”

54 year old gentlemen that the Community Care team looked after whilst recovering from a complex foot fracture, Durrington
  • “Thank you all for your kindness to me at such a sad and difficult time. I appreciated it so much it was heartening. Thank you too for the flowers they really did help me to cope at such a hard time. I am still enjoying them, now a little depleted but they are a reminder of your kindness and support when I needed it so much.”

    From customer’s wife, Downton
  • “Very many thanks for looking after my father so well for nearly a year. I know he could be difficult at times, but you always managed to calm him down and leave on a cheerful note. We miss you all, as you became part of the family, even involving us at Christian’s wedding etc. He also appreciated all the little gifts and watching the videos. Keep up the good work. It’s not just a job it’s a dedication. Anytime you’re passing, do pop in – we’d love to see you..”

From Customer’s wife and family, Amesbury
  • “We really miss you all. You became part of the family. Whenever you’re passing, just pop in. We’d love to see you any time.”

From Customer’s wife and family, Salisbury
  • “Thank you for all that you have done for Mum, she loved you all dearly. You truly are our Guardian Angels”

    Customers Family, Alderbury
  • “I’ve been impressed with the care my beloved husband has received since becoming a resident. His carers have taken a genuine interest in him as a person and been keen to learn about the man he is, his life and family. The staff are very caring, approachable, professional and care for him with respect and dignity, with all his needs met. The staff have been invaluable in facilitating our visits and video calls and are extremely understanding and accommodating with our requests.

They have a positive and can-do attitude which is very up lifting. Communication is very good, with queries responded to quickly. I have confidence in the staff’s abilities to care for my husband and feel they are becoming an extension of our family. Ten out of ten. Thank you!”

  • "My wife has lewy body dementia and has been in Milford Manor care home since January 2021. The care and treatment that my wife receives at the home has been excellent. Her room is clean and of a reasonable size with a pleasant view into the garden. Arrangements for chiropody and personal care (e.g. hairdresser, manicure etc.) are made in a timely fashion and reasonably priced."

"I am contacted in good time if my wife has an accident and the circumstances explained. She is always checked over for any injuries and put on 72 hours surveillance if she might have suffered an internal injury (e.g. concussion). I am able to visit and have video calls with my wife at regular times so I can maintain a good level of contact."

    Customers Family, Salisbury
  • "Overall my experience of Milford Manor has been very positive and I have been satisfied with the care provided to my wife at the home. I also feel comfortable that I can contact the home at any time to enquire how my wife is doing and have a phone chat with her most days."

    Customers Family, Salisbury
  • "All staff are very friendly, helpful and caring. Difficult to get to visit at present, but out of your control."
